Saturday 5th July marked the clock restoration and the formal inauguration of the restored chimes. 5th July was also the 180th anniversary of the first service at St Andrew’s.

The Mayor was present for the midday celebrations and there were performances from the celebrated classical guitarist Lee Westwood, plus the Brighton and Hove (Actually) Gay Mens Chorus.

Here are a selection of photographs reproduced by kind permission of the photographer Tony Mould – My Brighton and Hove Website

The midday chimes were accompanied by rapturous applause and a swirl of petals raining down from the belltower.

The Brighton and Hove (Actually) Gay Men's Chorus    Bert Hobden

Bert Hobden, aged 93, used to be a choirboy at St. Andrews. Gerry McCrudden presented him with a framed sheet of music which he may well have held in his hands around eighty years ago!

Celebratory mugs featuring the restored clock face were presented to the Sunday Volunteers.

We said farewell and gave our thanks to our outgoing Chair, Eleri Sampson

Clare Cassa produced an amazing "clock dial " cake which was cut into slices in seconds and held by big hands and little hands before feeding our faces!

Sun 23rd March: Easter Open Day

Dear All
A marvellous weekend of team spirit and community enterprise.
No doubt we will receive reports of the individual activities when we next meet.

In the meantime thanks and congratulations to Jo, her friends, family and
supporters for such a successful fundraising day on Sunday, particular thanks to
the walkers - Chris and Elaine managed the whole course in the worst weather
imaginable - and special thanks to Liam for the Pub Quiz - a new vocation
as quiz master beckons. Yours truly and her team of pensioners came fourth (or
was it fifth) which at least was better than last year!

The Mayor loyally supported all the events of the day and really appreciated
her "proper Sunday lunch" at The Iron Duke.

The annual Spring Clean took place on Saturday 22nd March.
We are extremely grateful to the Gerry's team of volunteers who scrubbed, polished and vacuumed while being entertained by the Brighton and Hove Actually Gay Mens' Chorus!
